Day 2

Jerash-Salt-Amman
Today, we will reach northern Jordan to discover the Greco-Roman city of Jerash. The city had its golden age under the Roman reign, then called Gerasa. Today, this site is considered one of the best preserved Roman provincial towns in the world. Hidden under sand for centuries before being uncovered and restored for 70 years, Jerash is the epitome of extensive and formal Roman municipal planning throughout the Middle East. It is adorned with cobbled, colonnaded streets, immense temples on the crest of the hills, delightful theatres, spacious public squares, baths, fountains and walls pierced by towers and railings. Then, we set off to discover Salt. A former very powerful city in Jordan, Salt is known for its splendid yellow stone buildings inspired by the Italian style. It has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since July 2021 for its alignments of beit, splendid yellow sandstone buildings dating back to the Ottoman period. The city is also home to the ruins of an ancient Ayyubid fortress from the 13th century as well as a small archaeological museum of interest. Ancient Roman tombs lie outside the town. Day 3

The Road of the Kings, Madaba, Mount Nebo, Kerak, Petra

Departure for Petra by taking part of the Kings road linking Aqaba to Amman. Stop at Madaba, site
biblical gathering 14 Byzantine churches. Visit of the Saint-Georges church, famous for its 6th century mosaic
century representing the oldest map of Palestine and Jerusalem. Continue to Mount Nebo
to appreciate the panorama of the Jordan Valley and the memorial

Day 4

Explore the ancient city of Petra

Visit alongside an English-speaking guide (duration 2 hours).
Day dedicated to Petra, the Pink City. To access it we will have to cross the Siq, a kilometer of gorge
narrow bordered by 80 m high cliffs! The dazzling colors and formations of the rocks
will lead to the magnificent Treasury (Al-Khazneh) carved into the sandstone rock. The site, listed as a heritage
UNESCO World Heritage Site is huge and contains hundreds of rock-cut tombs, a
Roman amphitheater, temples, a sacrificial altar and a colonnaded street.
Night Petra.

Little Petra, the Wadi-Rum desert

Day 6

Wadi Rum, Dead Sea, Amman

Departure for the Dead Sea through the Wadi-Araba desert which marks the border between Jordan and Palestione. We will discover the gorge of Wadi Al-Mujib on our way, before discovering our hotel in

seaside. In the afternoon, swim at the Dead Sea, relax by floating in the salty waters or resting at the edge of

the swimming pool.

Return to Amman.
